T&M Application Notes contain theory and practice for the operation of Agilent T&M instruments.
They include explanations of mathematical theory behind engineering concepts, and practical techniques and considerations for engineering design. To bring application notes into the digital age, we have recently begun recreating some of the most popular T&M application notes using the latest online interactive and presentation technologies such as Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF), QuickTime™ animations, and Java™ applets. Providing for online delivery, on-screen viewing, and off-line printing, interactive applications notes can be downloaded from this 'online shelf' directly to your desktop.

Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF), QuickTime™ animations, and Java™ applets

Interactive Applications Notes contain more than just typeset formulaes and static illustrations.
Using Acrobat PDF and Java technologies we have created complementary materials available online and for your desktop that bring T&M application notes alive. Acrobat PDF interactive application notes contain the full text of popular classics enhanced with zoomable graphs, animated charts, and new illustrated text putting the complex technologies in context. These PDF files, containing mostly digital information, have been optimized for downloading, on-screen viewing, and convenience printing on color or black-and-white printers. Our interactive application notes never go stale! Hyperlinks in the text allow direct access to continuously updated T&M information on the Agilent world wide website, such as product datasheets, catalogs, training courses, and newsletters.

Read about engineering concepts offline, Experience the models live online.
Test & measurement application notes contain explanations of underlying mathematical models and techniques for good engineering design. As a complement for each interactive PDF application note, we have developed interactive models that allow you to interactively explore these concepts and design techniques online. All you need is an inquisitive mind and a Java capable browser. Bring your own experience, interact with the models, and have fun!

Supporting software technologies and additional background to interactive models.
Above is a list of interactive applications notes and their companion interactive models. Clicking on a title sends you to the homepage for that application note where you can read an abstract, download a PDF file packaged together with QuickTime animations, and access related interactive models. If you can't wait to play with the interactive models, you can access them directly above. If you are interested in other, non-interactive, application notes, visit the T&M application notes library for a complete list of available documents.

To view Acrobat PDF application notes and to use interactive Java models, you may need to download some supporting software. Examine the list of supporting software technologies and make sure you are ready for the ride!

A step by step discussion, "What are interactive models?" provides a detailed explanation on their operation and the use of Java and PDF technologies. This discussion is also appropriate for those of you with a Windows 3.1 desktop where broswers do not support Java™.
